Christelle Tiquis, who hails from San Pablo, Laguna, said that her father went missing back in March, weeks after her youngest sibling suffered a stroke.
For her blind auditions, Tiquis sang "To Make You Feel My Love," originally composed by music icon Bob Dylan.
A tearful Tiquis went on to tell other "The Voice"coaches apl.de.ap, Bamboo Mañalac, and Sarah Geronimo of her reason for joining the singing competition.
She said she dedicated her performance to her mother, who has been greatly affected by the sudden disappearance of her father.
Anyhow, the young singer picked the Broadway star in the end.
