Joniver Robles, A Lea Salonga Admirer Turned 4 Chairs On The Voice PH

A self-professed music addict wowed all the coaches with his powerful voice in the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines".



Joniver Robles, 36, spent most of his life playing music. Despite not being able to finish his studies, he was able to help his family with the money he earns from his performances.


He also admitted that he admires Salonga, and would want to be part of her or Bamboo's team.

On the show's episode on Saturday, Robles performed "I Don't Need No Doctor". All the coaches turned their chairs as soon as he started singing.

Before revealing his choice, Robles admitted that he admires Salonga. He then sang a song for her before eventually deciding to be part of Kamp Kawayan.

Christelle Tiquis Joins The Voice Of The Philippines To Find Missing Dad

A loving daughter, who joined the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines" to find her missing father, landed a spot on Lea Salonga's team on Saturday.



Christelle Tiquis, who hails from San Pablo, Laguna, said that her father went missing back in March, weeks after her youngest sibling suffered a stroke.


For her blind auditions, Tiquis sang "To Make You Feel My Love," originally composed by music icon Bob Dylan.

A tearful Tiquis went on to tell other "The Voice"coaches apl.de.ap, Bamboo Mañalac, and Sarah Geronimo of her reason for joining the singing competition.

She said she dedicated her performance to her mother, who has been greatly affected by the sudden disappearance of her father.

Anyhow, the young singer picked the Broadway star in the end.

Charles Catbagan, A Radio Personality In Guam Turns 2 Chairs In The Voice PH

A Filipino radio personality from Guam turned the chairs of the two "Voice of the Philippines" coaches during the Blind Auditions aired on Sunday.



Performing Brian McKnight's "One Last Cry," Charles Catbagan impressed coaches Lea Salonga and Sarah Geronimo, who both gave a standing ovation for the contestant.


Both coaches wooed Catbagan to join their team. But in the end, he chose his long-time idol, Lea Salonga.

The 26-year-old Pinoy came all the way from Guam, where he works as a DJ, just to join "The Voice of the Philippines."

Catbagan said he joined the competition to fulfill his dream of giving his parents a new house.

Jon Philippe Go, Chemist Who Had Bamboo And Lea Fight Over Him On The Voice PH

A chemist with a "romantic" voice charmed both the coaches of "The Voice of the Philippines" and netizens who were tuned in to an episode of the singing competition on Saturday.



Jon Philippe Go, whose name was briefly among the local trends on Twitter, had coaches Bamboo Mañalac and Lea Salonga fighting over him.


Both coaches throw in jabs at each other in an attempt to woo Go to their respective teams.

Go, who explained that music has always been his outlet outside his job as a chemist, eventually picked the Broadway star. He explained that he hopes to build an "explosive chemistry" with Salonga.

Nino Alejandro Turns 4 Chairs On The Voice Of The Philippines Season 2

Nino Alejandro, a singer-songwriter from the popular Alejandro clan, gets another shot at stardom as he clinches a spot in Lea Salonga's team on the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines".



Alejandro, who has been in the entertainment industry since 1995, has released three albums and two movie soundtracks.


He now spends his time as a father and as a member of his band.

He admitted that being part of a popular musical family has its pros and cons.

On the show's episode on Saturday, Alejandro wowed the coaches with his rendition of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell". His performance made all the coaches turn for him, with Lea Salonga turning her chair after just a few notes.

Salonga, who couldn't help but show how much she enjoyed Alejandro's performance, went over to hug him after his performance.

Alejandro chose to be part of Salonga's team, becoming its sixth member.

Faith Surla's Lea Salonga Like Voice Get Her Raves Online

A 17-year-old girl from Angeles City in Pampanga is getting raves online for her Lea Salonga-like voice.



A video of Faith Surla singing "For the First Time in Forever," one of the songs in Disney hit film "Frozen," recently went viral on social networking sites.


The video, which also shows Aina Magpantay singing with Surla, was uploaded by Leonarda Calma Jr., who was also the one who recorded and mixed the cover, in February.


It went viral recently after it was again uploaded by Josan Imperial on November 4.

The video has so far amassed more than 314,000 views on YouTube, with netizens even comparing Surla's voice to that of Broadway star Salonga.

Surla also has her own rendition of the songs "Let It Go," "On my Own," and "I Dreamed a Dream."

According to Surla's parents, she was still a little kid when they saw her potential in singing.

Her father Rowell, meanwhile, could not hide his happiness.

Calma, for his part, said he did not expect that Surla's covers will go viral.

Meanwhile, Surla gave a piece of advice to the youth, saying that they should not feel afraid of showcasing their talent to the public.

Fil-Am Kathryn Dela Cruz Fails On The Voice PH But Something Good Unexpectedly Happens

Katherine Dela Cruz came all the way from California to the Philippines hoping to make it to the blind auditions of "The Voice of the Philippines." However, fate had other things planned for her.



During an interview before the blind auditions, the 22-year-old revealed that she is a big fan of Lea Salonga, having played Kim at a local production of "Miss Saigon" in California.



So after failing to turn a single chair for her performance of John Legend's "All of Me," Dela Cruz did not waste the opportunity to ask Salonga if they can do a duet.


The original Kim of "Miss Saigon" gamely sang "I Still Believe" from the musical with Dela Cruz who not only impressed Salonga, but also the other coaches.

Salonga refused to give a critique of Dela Cruz's blind audition but vowed to recommend her to the current "Miss Saigon" production in London.

Still amazed with what happened, Dela Cruz quickly ran to her parents backstage to tell then that her "ultimate dream" just came true.

Sinabi ni Daniel Padilla na hindi siya na-offend sa comment ng Tony Award winner na si Lea Salonga sa 'The Voice Kids' noong Sabado.



Sa interview ni Daniel sa 'The Buzz' noong Linggo, sinabi niyang nirerespeto pa rin niya ang veteran singer.

Ang naturang isyu ay nangyari ng nagkomento si Lea sa miyembro ng Team Bamboo na si Juan Karlos Labajo at sinabing kaya niyang talbugan si Daniel pagdating niya sa edad na mayroon si Daniel ngayon.

Saad ni Daniel na hindi naman ito big deal at isyu, nadala lang naman daw si Lea sa naturang kompetisyon.

Samantala, si Lea ay nagpaumanhin na sa mga supporters ni Daniel sa Twitter noong Linggo at sinabing hindi naman niya intensiyon at sinasadya ang naturang komento.

Isang batang singer ang ginamit ang puso niya sa pagpili kay Sarah Geronimo nang ipinangako ng aktres at singer na ibibigay niya ang lahat para sa kanya, pati na rin si John Lloyd Cruz.

Ang trese anyos na si Khen Lobaton na tubong Bacolod City ay pinahanga ang mga coaches sa pagkanta niya ng Empire State of Mind ni Jay-z.

Unang umikot si Lea Salonga na sinundan naman ni Bamboo Manalac at Sarah Geronimo bago matapos ang pagtatanghal ni Lobaton.





Hinikayat ni Bamboo na sumali si Khen sa team niya dahil ang talento niya at attitude ay perpekto para sa Camp Kawayan.

Todo rin ang panghihikayat ni Sarah kay Khen at sinabi niyang gagawin niya ang lahat para matulungan siya kung saan tinanong ni Lobaton kung kasama doon si John Lloyd Cruz.

Si Lea naman ay kumpleto ang armas ng tinawag si The Voice of the Philippines grand winner Mitoy Yonting sa stage para kumbinsihin si Khen.

Pero sa huli ay piniling mapasama ni Khen sa Team Sarah.

Isang batang contestant sa The Voice Kids ang hirap mamili sa dalawang coaches na umikot para sa kanya.

Sinabi ng trese anyos na si Shanne Dandan noong Linggo na sumali siya sa The Voice Kids blind auditions upang mainspire ang mga kabataan.

Tadhana ng Up Dharma Down ang kinanta ni Dandan na kung saan umikot kaagad si Bamboo Manalac.

Pero ng patapos na ang kanyang pagtatanghal ay biglang umikot si Lea Salonga.

Nahirapan si Dandan sa pagpili sa kanilang dalawa at inaming meron na siyang naisip na gustong maging coach simula pa lang.

Sa huli ay pinili ni Dandan si Salonga kung saan ipinaliwanag niya na naniniwala siya na matutulungan siya ng musical theater actress sa contest.

Si Sarah Geronimo at Lea Salonga ay namangha kay Renzwil 'Kobe' Viray, isang trese anyos na galing South Cotabato ng kinanta niya ang For Once In My Life ni Stevie Wonder.

Saad ni Geronimo, kung sino man ang makakarinig ng boses ni Viray ay siguradong magkakaroon ng magandang araw. Sinabi rin ni Lea na nagugustuhan niya yung pagiging technical ni Kobe kung saan yung puso niya ang nangunguna.





Tinanong ni Salonga kung paano magpractice ang batang kalahok kung saan sinagot ni Kobe na nagpapractice siya habang nakahiga. Hiniling ni Lea na magbigay si Kobe ng demonstrasyon kung saan sinamahan din siya ni Salonga sa stage. At sa di inaasahan, sumali na rin si Sarah at Bamboo sa pagkanta habang nakahiga.

Nang matapos ang demostrasyon ni Kobe, namili na siya ng magiging coach kung saan pinili niya si Lea.

Isang die hard fan ni Daniel Padilla at Kathryn Bernardo ang nakapagpaikot sa upuan ng lahat ng hurado sa blind auditions ng 'The Voice Kids' nitong Sabado.

Si Eufritz Santos na tubong Maynila ay inaming sumali siya sa contest para mahasa pa ang kanyang boses at umaasang makascore ng duet kay Daniel Padilla.

Ang 11 year old na kalahok ay kinanta ang 'Hanggang Ngayon' ni Kyla. Ang pagtama niya sa matataas na nota ang nagtulak sa mga hurado na sina Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga at Bamboo Manalac upang pindutin ang kanilang mga buton.

Nagtagisan sa pagkumbinsi sina Lea at Bamboo para sa aspiring singer pero nanaig si Salonga ng siya ay piliin ni Santos.

Ilang minuto lang pagkatapos ng audition ni Santos ay nagsilabasan na ang mga fans ni Daniel at Kathryn para itaguyod ang suporta para kay Santos na kung saan ang kanyang pangalan ay napunta sa 2nd spot ng Twitter worldwide trends.

Giedie Laroco Turns All 3 Chairs With Her Powerful Performance Of 'Power Of Love' On 'The Voice Kids'

All three coaches of "The Voice Kids" turned their chairs for a 13-year-old girl named Giedie Laroco from Dagupan City, who managed to sing a Laura Branigan classic Power Of Love during the show's Blind Audition aired Sunday.



"The Voice of the Philippines" grand winner, Mitoy Yonting, chose the same song to win last year.

Sarah Geronimo said Laroco sings like a pro while Bamboo Manalac who was thinking hard how to get Laroco to his team, could only say she did it very well.

Lea Salonga, Yonting's coach, said she already found the voice of Laroco "perfect."

Laroco eventually chose to join Team Lea believing the international singer will help her improve.

The 13-year-old new recruit of Team Lea has been singing for a band back in Dagupan to sustain her studies.

She used to sing in a restaurant where Yonting and his band also once performed.

Laroco said she joined "The Voice Kids" so she can help her family.

Marianne Interino Got Lucky Even Without Her Lucky Charm As She Joins Team Lea On 'The Voice Kids'

A young girl got lucky on "The Voice Kids," even without her lucky charm -- a 25-centavo coin that she brings with her every time she joins a competition.



Eleven-year-old Marianne Interino from Olongapo City has been singing since she was very young. Her mother recalled her singing the classic "Ugoy ng Duyan" when she was only two. She also has the ability to remember lyrics easily.

Before the blind auditions, Interino was nervous, especially when she remembered that she did not have her lucky charm with her.

However, even without it, Interino wowed Broadway star Lea Salonga, who immediately turned her chair after hearing the first few notes of Aegis' "Luha."

Salonga said the last time she remember turning that quickly was for Mitoy Yonting.

Bamboo praised Interino for her powerful voice, while Sarah Geronimo congratulated the contestant, saying she deserves to be in this competition.

By the end of the episode, Team Lea gained two new recruits: Interino and Giedie Laroco.

Team Sarah also gained two new members -- Lee Marcelino and Rica Ito -- while Camp Kawayan have three new members: Filipino-Japanese Natsumi Saito, Edray Teodoro and Maite Zubiri.
