Lougee Basabas Edge Out Ramonne Rodriguez On The Voice PH Battle Rounds

Mojofly's former vocalist Lougee Basabas moves on to the next round of "The Voice of the Philippines" after Bamboo chose her over Ramonne Rodriguez on the competition's Battle Rounds on Sunday.



The two contestants sang Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody," which Bamboo felt suited their voices.


Sarah Geronimo praised Rodriguez for carrying herself well after nearly tripping onstage during her performance, while apl.de.ap said he admired Rodriguez' voice.

However, both apl.de.ap and Geronimo went with Basabas.

Bamboo eventually chose Basabas, who along with Rita Martinez, Basabas will move on to the competition's next round with Kamp Kawayan.

Bamboo Jams With Comedian Eric Nicolas In A Funny Moment On The Voice PH

Comedian Eric Nicolas entertained the audience and the coaches as he performed his own version of "Get Here" on Saturday's episode of 'The Voice of the Philippines''.



All the coaches thought Nicolas was an actual contestant, until Nicolas started singing incomprehensibly.


Bamboo Mañalac amped up the fun when he started singing with Nicolas.

Patricia Gomez, 21 Year Old Singing Athlete Joins Team Bamboo On The Voice PH

Patricia Gomez is more than just a pretty face.



The 21-year-old knows a thing or two about jiu-jitsu, and has a promising, suave voice according to "The Voice of the Philippines" coach Bamboo Mañalac.


On Saturday's episode of the singing competition, Gomez performed a rendition of the 1993 hit "Hit the Road Jack," originally sung by the American music icon Ray Charles.

It was enough to turn the chair of Mañalac, who immediately became the envy of co-coach apl.de.ap after he saw Gomez.

Joniver Robles, A Lea Salonga Admirer Turned 4 Chairs On The Voice PH

A self-professed music addict wowed all the coaches with his powerful voice in the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines".



Joniver Robles, 36, spent most of his life playing music. Despite not being able to finish his studies, he was able to help his family with the money he earns from his performances.


He also admitted that he admires Salonga, and would want to be part of her or Bamboo's team.

On the show's episode on Saturday, Robles performed "I Don't Need No Doctor". All the coaches turned their chairs as soon as he started singing.

Before revealing his choice, Robles admitted that he admires Salonga. He then sang a song for her before eventually deciding to be part of Kamp Kawayan.

Sean Oquendo, A Tattoo Artist Joins Bamboo's Team Kamp Kawayan On The Voice PH

A young tattoo artist surprised the coaches with his unique voice, becoming the newest member of Bamboo's ''Kamp Kawayan'' in the second season of ''The Voice of the Philippines''.



Sean Oquendo, who hails from General Santos City, started doing tattoos on other people as a hobby, but he later decided to make money from it.


Despite his "rock star" looks, Oquendo noted he is not really into rock music.

On the show's episode on Saturday, Oquendo performed Zia Quizon's "Ako Na Lang", making Bamboo Mañalac turn his chair for him.

Jon Philippe Go, Chemist Who Had Bamboo And Lea Fight Over Him On The Voice PH

A chemist with a "romantic" voice charmed both the coaches of "The Voice of the Philippines" and netizens who were tuned in to an episode of the singing competition on Saturday.



Jon Philippe Go, whose name was briefly among the local trends on Twitter, had coaches Bamboo Mañalac and Lea Salonga fighting over him.


Both coaches throw in jabs at each other in an attempt to woo Go to their respective teams.

Go, who explained that music has always been his outlet outside his job as a chemist, eventually picked the Broadway star. He explained that he hopes to build an "explosive chemistry" with Salonga.

Karlo Mojica, A Person With Disability Earns Spot In Team Bamboo On The Voice PH

A bassist proved that having a disability should not be a hindrance in pursuing one's dreams, as he became part of Team Bamboo in the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines."



Karlo Mojica of Makati City has been unable to walk properly ever since he was young. In an attempt to have him cured, his parents brought him to different doctors for treatment, but he was still unable to walk.


Despite his disability, Mojica tries to be independent. He decided to join "The Voice" to prove that even persons with disabilities (PWD) can reach their dreams.

On the show's episode on Sunday, Mojica sang a Freddie Aguilar song and both Bamboo and apl.de.ap turned for him.

At the end of his song, Mojica received a standing ovation from all four coaches and the studio audience.

In the end, Mojica chose Team Bamboo, explaining that both of them experienced being in a band.

Nagpost si Dawn Zulueta sa micro-blogging site na Twitter at sinabing hindi sila magkapatid ng 'The Voice' judge na si Bamboo Manalac.


Hindi na nakayanan ni Dawn ang naturang tsismis at kailangan na daw itong matigil.

Sinabi ni Dawn na siya at ang kanyang kapatid na lalaking si George lamang ang anak ng kanilang mga magulang na sina, Jose Fazil Tahanlangit-Taleon at Maria Cleofe Soleta-Salman.

Ang kanyang ama ay nagasawang muli kaya siya ay may dalawa pang half-brothers na sina Jed at Josiah.

Maliban dito, wala na silang iba pang kapatid.

Nakiusap si Dawn sa publiko na kung pupuwede ay tapusin na ang naturang isyu dahil ito ay hindi naman totoo.

Nakiusap din siya kay Bamboo na kung pupwede ay mag-release din siya ng sarili niyang statement.

Ang The Voice Kids coaches na sina Bamboo Manalac at Sarah Geronimo ang itinanghal na 'Male at Female Performer of the Year' sa Yahoo Celebrity 2014 Awards na idinaos sa Mall of Asia Arena noong Biyernes, July 18.

Maagang nakatanggap ng birthday gift si Sarah, kung saan siya ay magiging 26 years old na nitong July 25, dahil sa natamo niyang 536,921 na boto sa fan-based poll. Sinundan siya sa pangalawang puwesto ng singer-actress na si Julie Anne San Jose na may 491,880 na boto.

Samantalang si Bamboo naman ay nakatanggap ng 343,009 na boto na sinundan naman ng 232,355 na boto para kay Elmo Magalona.

Pinahiyaw din nila ang mga fans at audience sa kanilang surprise finale performance sa naturang Awards night.

Si Bamboo at Sarah ay malugod na nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng kanilang fans na taos pusong sumuporta at bumoto sa kanila.

Ang pangalawang grupo sa Team ni Bamboo na nagharap ay sina Katherine Medina, Stacy Pineda at Arianna Ocampo na nagwaging makuha ang atensiyon ng mga manonood at judges dahil sa kanilang performance sa kantang 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' ni Marvin Gaye.

Bago nagumpisa ang round, nailahad na nagkaroon na ng matinding pagkakaibigan ang tatlo.

Si Bamboo ay talagang nahirapan sa pagpili pero kailangan niya talagang mamili at sa huli ay napili niya ang OPM rock singer na si Stacy.

Isang batang singer ang ginamit ang puso niya sa pagpili kay Sarah Geronimo nang ipinangako ng aktres at singer na ibibigay niya ang lahat para sa kanya, pati na rin si John Lloyd Cruz.

Ang trese anyos na si Khen Lobaton na tubong Bacolod City ay pinahanga ang mga coaches sa pagkanta niya ng Empire State of Mind ni Jay-z.

Unang umikot si Lea Salonga na sinundan naman ni Bamboo Manalac at Sarah Geronimo bago matapos ang pagtatanghal ni Lobaton.





Hinikayat ni Bamboo na sumali si Khen sa team niya dahil ang talento niya at attitude ay perpekto para sa Camp Kawayan.

Todo rin ang panghihikayat ni Sarah kay Khen at sinabi niyang gagawin niya ang lahat para matulungan siya kung saan tinanong ni Lobaton kung kasama doon si John Lloyd Cruz.

Sinabi ng trese anyos na si Shanne Dandan noong Linggo na sumali siya sa The Voice Kids blind auditions upang mainspire ang mga kabataan.

Tadhana ng Up Dharma Down ang kinanta ni Dandan na kung saan umikot kaagad si Bamboo Manalac.

Pero ng patapos na ang kanyang pagtatanghal ay biglang umikot si Lea Salonga.

Nahirapan si Dandan sa pagpili sa kanilang dalawa at inaming meron na siyang naisip na gustong maging coach simula pa lang.

Sa huli ay pinili ni Dandan si Salonga kung saan ipinaliwanag niya na naniniwala siya na matutulungan siya ng musical theater actress sa contest.

Ang talento ng mga Filipino ay kilala ng Hollywood actress na si Jessica Lowe kung saan sinabi niya na isa siyang fan ng Filipino singer at The Voice Kids judge na si Bamboo Manalac. Sinabi rin ni Lowe na ilang beses na rin silang nagkita ni Manalac.

'Blended' and unang pelikula ni Lowe kung saan kasama niya ang batikang aktres na si Drew Barrymore at batikang komedyanteng si Adam Sandler.

Sa pelikula, na-ipartner si Lowe sa 'Saturday Night Live' cast member na si Kevin Nealon.

Kasama rin sa pelikula si Bella Thorne na isang author. Si Bella ay may kapansanan sa pagbabasa at pangarap niya na ma-inspire ng kanyang librong 'Autumn Falls' ang mga ibang batang may dyslexia.

Saad ni Thorne na sana ang pagsusulat niya ng mga libro sa Random House ang magbibigay pruweba na kayang maabot ng mga batang may kapansanan na tulad niya na maabot ang kanilang mga pangarap.

Sinabi rin ni Thorne na inspirasyon niya si Drew Barrymore, na kung saan si Barrymore ay nakaranas ng difficult childhood pero siya na ngayon ay isang successful Hollywood star.

Edray Leona Teodoro Prove Bullies Wrong As She Joins Camp Kawayan On 'The Voice Kids'

A 13-year-old girl is hoping to prove bullies wrong after she managed to turn the chair of rocker Bamboo Mañalac during the Blind Auditions of "The Voice Kids" on Sunday.



Before her performance, Edray Leona Teodoro couldn't contain her tears as she recalled some of her schoolmates calling her names.

Asked what her schoolmates call her, she said: Fat.

But after performing an upbeat rendition of the song "Killing Me Softly," all singer Sarah Geronimo could say was, you've got a beautiful voice.

Lea Salonga, thinks Mañalac will be the perfect coach for Teodoro.

Bamboo, who was impressed with Teodoro's voice, agreed with Salonga's comments, saying he will teach the 13-year-old how to "keep it simple" for the people to hear the "nice voice" she has.

Teodoro, whose dream is to become a professional singer-performer, said she joined "The Voice Kids" to gain confidence and to show her school bullies that there's more to her than meets the eye.

Fil-Japanese Natsumi Saito Joins Camp Kawayan On 'The Voice Kids'

"The Voice Kids" Coach Bamboo Mañalac found another young artist to hone in the person of a 12-year-old Filipino-Japanese from Cabanatuan City.



Natsumi Saito, whose name means "beautiful summer," managed to impress Mañalac with her rendition of Jessie J's "Price Tag" in the talent show's Blind Auditions.

Mañalac, however, thought that Saito could have chosen a different song that would complement her voice.

The former rock band frontman said he was also impressed by Saito's authentic voice, although he admitted it still needs some polishing.

Meanwwhile, Coach Sarah Geronimo said she felt that Saito lacked energy while performing the song.

The 12-year-old said she joined "The Voice Kids" to improve her talent in singing and share it to the world.

Juan Karlos Labajo Had Bamboo And Sarah Geronimo Fight Over Him On 'The Voice Kids'

A 13-year-old Cebuano mixed talent, charm and sense of humor for his performance on the blind auditions of "The Voice Kids" aired Saturday.



Juan Karlos Labajo had both coaches Bamboo Manalac and Sarah Geronimo fighting over him after he sang his rendition of Adam Sandler's "Grow Old With You."

He even had coach Lea Salonga jump to her feet after he playfully flashed his eyebrows towards Geronimo.

Manalac tried to convince the half-German to join his team.

In response, Geronimo grabbed a poster of her concert and wrote Labajo's name as a guest star.

But Labajo chose Manalac in the end.

Moments after his performance aired, netizens took to microblogging site Twitter and launched his name to the top of worldwide trends.

Both "Juan Karlos" and "Grow Old With You" had more mentions on the social media site than the show's official hashtag "TheVoiceKidsPH."
