Mystica Accepts Marlene Aguilar's Challenge To Pope Francis

Singer Mystica has accepted the challenge posed by Marlene Aguilar, the sister of OPM icon Freddie Aguilar, to a sparring match.

On her Facebook page, Mystica, who is known for doing splits in her performances, announced that she has accepted Aguilar's dare.

Mystica also added that she had been blocked by Aguilar from posting the dare on her Facebook wall.

Aguilar has been in hot water since she challenged Pope Francis to a sparring fight at Elorde Gym, adding that she's also extending the dare to those who are against her views.

It seems Mystica didn't like that Aguilar is "attacking Catholics and Pope Francis with her libelous speech."

It has also been reported that Mystica is also a black belt in jukado (judo-karate-aikido) and kick-boxing.

Marlene Aguilar Calls Pope Francis 'Evil' And Wants To Face Pontiff In UFC Match

Marlene Aguilar, the sister of OPM icon Freddie Aguilar, has earned the ire of some netizens after calling Pope Francis "evil" in a series of Facebook posts.

Aguilar, who refers to herself as "She Dragon," have been posting videos and articles on her page that claim the pontiff is involved in Satanic rituals, which supposedly include eating babies.

She also alleged that Pope Francis is facing criminal charges in international courts because of these supposed rituals, getting mixed reactions from her followers.

Some laughed at Aguilar's claims, while others were furious in defense of the Catholic leader, who is currently in the Philippines for a five-day apostolic visit centered on mercy and compassion.

Aguilar clarified that she believes in God, but not in religion. She added that "the utter ignorance of the masses equals the great power of the Church."

She went on to challenge those "attacking" her opinions to face her at Elorde Gym in Katipunan. Citing her supposed experience in mixed martial arts, Aguilar said she can easily knock out her detractors.

Aguilar even extended the challenge to Pope Francis himself.

Lyca Gairanod Will Sing For Pope Francis

"The Voice Kids" champion Lyca Gairanod has been chosen to perform during Pope Francis' meeting with families on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

The 10-year-old will take the stage with "Tell the World of His Love," the theme song of the 1995 World Youth Day, which was presided by Pope Saint John Paul II in Manila.

In an interview, Gairanod performed a part of the song by composer Trina Belamide, which was heard by some 5 million attendees of the youth festival's culminating mass at Luneta Park.

Gairanod, who admittedly struggles with English songs, said she has been undergoing lessons to perfect her pronunciation of the lyrics of "Tell the World of His Love."

The gathering of families on Friday will highlight the experiences of those who live in poverty, those whose members are working overseas, and those caring for persons with disabilities.

Gairanod, who used to help her mother scavenge junk to sell in a fishing village in Tanza, Cavite, said that if given a chance, she would ask Pope Francis to pray for her family's good health.

According to Gairanod, she has always dreamt of meeting the Pope. She added that, if allowed, she hopes to take a selfie with Pope Francis when she meets him this Friday.
