The "Past Tense" star took home the Best Drama Actress trophy at the 2014 PMPC Star Awards for Television, beating Maricel Soriano, Lovi Poe and fellow Kapamilya stars Bea Alonzo, Angel Locsin, Dawn Zulueta, and Maja Salvador.
In a live interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," Chiu was asked for her reaction to critics who say she was the least deserving of the recognition.
She said she cannot please everyone and if the award can be bought, then she would have bought one before so she can be called best actress.
Despite being in showbiz for almost a decade now, Chiu admitted she has yet to get used to personal attacks from her detractors.
Chiu attained popularity in 2006 when she joined the first-ever teen edition of "Pinoy Big Brother," which she won. She bagged lead roles in several ABS-CBN series and has since starred in 10 films.
Her latest movie, "Past Tense" co-starring Xian Lim and Ai Ai delas Alas, was released in cinemas on Wednesday.
