Jovie Albao celebrated her 18th birthday with Aguilar and her friends and family from Mindoro at the singer's music bar, Ka Freddie's, in Quezon City on Sunday.
The party unfolded as a wedding reception of sorts, with the debutante, in her white gown, cutting a cake and sharing a dance with her husband.
Albao was only 16 when she and Aguilar got married on November 23, 2013 in Islamic rites in Buluan, Maguindanao, a month after the singer first admitted their relationship.
Taking the stage for her speech, Albao turned emotional as she thanked her parents, who, she said, undeservedly became the target of criticisms at the height of the controversy surrounding her relationship with Aguilar.
According to Aguilar, Albao will finish a culinary arts program next year, after which they are planning to put up a cafe together. The singer said they are also hoping to go on a second honeymoon in 2015, either in her hometown in Mindoro or during a break from his shows in the United States or Europe.
