In an article published by philstar.com, an unnamed source of the newspaper offered an explanation why the kapamilya actor is currently on an indefinite leave from work.
The source who claimed to be connected with the establishements that hired the actor said that Cruz was reportedly dropped by some of his endorsements due to his tainted wholesome image following the leak of videos showing him in a seemingly drunken state, flashing a dirty finger and throwing cuss words.
These videos were uploaded on Instagram by a friend of Ellen Adarna who is rumored to be the current girlfriend of the actor. The couple is currently out of the country for a vacation.
The source also ddded that John Lloyd's image further plunged after he posted a photo of stools in a toilet bowl, which also went viral on social media.

Because of what happened to John Lloyd, the showbiz insider said companies seeking endorsers are now stricter in their criteria. Not only must the actor’s image must be “wholesome.” To make sure that it is really “wholesome,” the contract for endorsers now allegedly includes “pages” of “morality clause.”
In a press statement issued by ABS-CBN last month, the actor and the network mutually agreed for the former to take an indefinite leave.
