Star Magic, the management handling the careers of former lovers Erich Gonzales and Daniel Matsunaga, has released a statement on Thursday and said that money had nothing to do with the breakup.
Erich and Daniel met with to discuss the issues involving their split, ABS-CBN New reported. The ex-couple also asked the public to give them a chance to patch things up privately.
Here's the statement of Star Magic released;
"Nagharap kahapon sina Erich Gonzales at Daniel Matsunaga sa Star Magic office para pagusapan ang mga issues na may kinalaman sa kanilang hiwalayan. Naging maayos ang usapan nilang dalawa. Walang kinalaman ang pera o third party sa kanilang paghihiwalay. Pakiusap nina Erich at Daniel na huwag idamay ang kanilang pamilya sa issue. Hiling rin ng dalawa ang pag-unawa at pagkakataong maayos ng pribado ang kanilang relasyon. Maraming salamat po."
Exactly a week ago, fans were shocked when Erich revealed that they were no longer together.

This revelation came after her social media followers noticed that she had deleted all her photos with Daniel and even with his family. Despite the obvious, Daniel refused to admit the end of their relationship, while Erich further clarified that they were no longer talking. Both agreed that there was no third party involved. However, Erich did not confirm nor deny speculations that finances had something to do with their split.
This prompted Matsunaga's sister Vanessa to ask her to clarify rumors about money problems between the two. Provoked, Erich released a statement that she promises to tell everything.
Nonetheless, the timing of the talk casts doubt, as the two are flying abroad for shows. Incidentally, despite the setback in their personal lives, Daniel is bound for a new reality show with other celebrities from the network. Recently, Erich renewed her contract with ABS-CBN.
