Seven Sundays grosses Php 271 million worldwide

Star Cinema's family drama movie Seven Sundays has earned Php 271 million worldwide according to its social media accounts on Monday.

The movie which had a premiere screening locally on second week of October had a Php 10 miliion opening box office gross.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the movie rerecived an A-rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board. The movie stars Aga Muhlach, Dingdong Dantes, Cristine Reyes, Ronaldo Valdez, and Enrique Gil.


GMA7 announces the return of Starstruck


The kapuso network is out again to discover new talents as it announced on its website the return of Starstruck - the network's its first-ever reality-based artista search on television.

Some of the network's prized talents were discovered through Starstruck including its first ever Ultimate Survivor Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, Kris Bernal, and Alden Richards. Other are network-switchers like Paulo Avelino, Arci Muñoz, Aljur Abrenica, and Cristine Reyes.

Aside from Starstruck, GMA is also fielding two new original singing competitions. One is "Center Stage" where contestants should impress the judges whom will bring them to the center stage.

Another one is a singing competition to be hosted by none other Asia's Songbir Regine Velasquez. The Clash is a cutthroat search where undiscovered vocal talents will fight against each other until one is left standing.

All these three shows are slated for telecast starting next year.

Aden Richards rushed to the hospital

The camp of kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards has yet to issue a statement on his love team partner Maine Mendoza's open letter to their fans and supporters after the latter wrote in her blog post that she and Alden are just friends and love team.

According to people close to the actor, he was rushed to the hospital after vomiting and felt dizziness.Food poisoning was pointed as reason. They suspect Alden had eaten something which did not "dwell" well in his stomach.

But some rumormongers said Alden got stressed of Maine's blog post? How true, Alden?

Maria Isabel Lopez's driver's license revoked

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the driver'ss license of actress Maria Isabel Lopez for violating taffic securty at the recently held ASEAN conference in the country.. Lopez used a lane designated for ASEAN delegates earlier this month.

The action was recommended by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA)to the LTO after she used the Asean lane on the night of November 11 to escape the traffic jam.

The sanction will last for two years which will bar her from reapplying and reacquiring a driver’s license according to MMDA assistant general manager for planning Jojo Garcia.

Lopez was also made to pay a total fine of P8,000. Garcia said that P5,000 of which was for violating the anti-distracted driving law, while P3,000 was for her reckless driving and disregarding of traffic signs.

Peters crowned Miss Universe 2017


Philippines' bet Rachel Peters's new-found sister in Miss Universe 2017 competition Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa was crowned as Miss Universe 2017 on Monday (Manila time), besting contestants from all over the world, including Rachel herself who made it to the Top 10.

In final Question and Answer portion, the top 3 were asked the same question: "What quality in yourself are you most proud of and how will you apply that quality in your time as Miss Universe?"

Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters crowned Miss Universe 2017


Miss South Africa Nel-Peters, a 22-year-old model, answered:
"As Miss Universe you have to be confident in who you are as an individual. A Miss Universe is a woman that has overcome many fears and by that she is able to help other women overcome their fears. She is a woman that nothing is ever too much is asked for and that's exactly who I am."

First runner-up Laura González Ospina, 22, is a Colombian actress and model born in Cali but raised in Cartagena. She went to the Cartagena Modern Gymnasium and Dramatic Art at the School of Education Actoral House Ensemble and speaks English, Spanish and French. She participated in the 2017 telenovela "La Cacica" as Chechi. She has also been featured in several films.

Answering the final question, Miss Colombia quipped:
"I'm incredibly passionate in everything I do. With compassion, I have discipline. With compassion I put my whole self in every situation that I work at. I've done this as an actress. I've done this a Colombian and I do not doubt that I will do this as Miss Universe."

Second runner-up Davina Bennett, a 23-year-old Jamaican model, had this answer to the question:
"I'm most appreciative of is my drive, my determination. I am the owner of a foundation that spread awareness for the deaf community. And this platform is a great platform great to let persons know that these persons need opportunities and need equal opportunities as those in society. And so Miss Universe competition will be the platform for me to use this foundation to spread awaress for all the deaf and mute around. Thank you."

Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi stars three of today's most promising young stars - Jameson Blake (2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten), Jerome Ponce (Haunted Mansion), and Sue Ramirez (The Debutantes).

Under the direction of internationlly-acclaimer Jun Robles Lana (Die Beautiful), the movie tells about the story of Norma (Ramirez) - a typical young woman who loves to post photos in her social media accounts.

Celebrating their third monthsary with her boyfriend (Ponce), she was dianosed with EHS Sydrome or Electromagnetic Hypersensisitivity. That means, she's allergic to cellphones, tables, laptops, and most of all, to WiFi.

Her mom decided to send her to somewhere in a remote area where WiFi is hardly available. She then misses her boyfriend but one who misses her more is her boyfriend's younger brother (Blake).
