Kapamilya actor James Reid has started his training for his latest movie "Pedro Penduko".
Viva Films has chosen the actor as the popular komiks character for its upcoming film adaptation. This is the first time James is doing a movie outside his team-up with girlfriend Nadine Lustre.

Pedro Penduko is one of the popular Pinoy komiks characters aside from Darna and Captain Barbell. In fact, it has been made into a series of movies which starred funny man Janno Gibbs in the 90s and kapamilya teen actor (then) Matt Evans in the television version.
In the original komiks, Pedro Penduko an ordinary Pinoy who fights off evil forces with the help of a magical amulet, whereas in the new version, Pedro Penduko is Peter Harris who has lived all his life in the US by his adoptive father.
The modern twist aims to revitalize the dated imagery of the superhero for a new generation of Filipinos.
Viva Films has yet to release the target date of the movie's premiere in cinemas.
