Liza, who has a handful of successful tv series and blockbuster movies under her belt emerged as the top choice of Star Cinema executives after its original chosen actress Angel Locsin had to drop the role due to health reasons.
Like any other actress that could be chosen, Liza is just as honored to be chosen as the next superheroine.
"I feel really honored t be able to don the iconic costume and to be able to embody what Darna represents", Liza said.
It was last week when her manager Ogie Diaz dropped hints what needs is just an official announcement.

Soberano, who at only the age of 19, has built a reputation - a good one - after doing lead roles on television via "Forevermore" and "Dolce Amore" with onscreen partner Enrique Gil.
